Hyperautomation

Hyperautomation refers to the act of automating business processes. Businesses have begun to automate these processes due to technology improvements and advancements. One example of hyperautomation is self-service kiosks at retail stores. These kiosks allow customers to complete purchases with minimal human intervention. There are many other examples of hyperautomation.

Business automation

Business automation involves using computers to perform tasks for companies and organisations. Businesses use automation software to do repetitive work, streamline operations, and eliminate errors. Some common uses of automation software include inventory control, workflow management, and customer service. Companies use automation software to reduce costs and improve efficiency in their businesses.

Automate

Automate refers to the act of replacing manual labour with machines. The term was coined by Thomas Edison in 1893.

Business practices

Business practices are actions taken by businesses to increase productivity and lower operating costs

Types of hyperautomation

There are several types of hyperautomation, including batch processing, workflow sequencing (or queueing), data collection, decision making, rule based systems, etc. However, we’ll focus on three of them here: Batch Processing, Workflow Sequencing, and Data Collection.

Batch Processing

A batch processing system automates a task that requires repeated actions, such as printing a file. A good example would be sending out a mailing list. A lot of people send out mailings, and they require similar information to be sent out over and over again. By using a batch processing system, someone could create a template that would collect the necessary data, and then send out a bulk mailing without needing to enter the information manually each time.

Workflow Sequencing

Workflow sequencing is also known as “queueing”, and it refers to placing tasks in order to ensure that they get done correctly. When you’re dealing with workflow sequencing, you want to make sure you don’t let any tasks overlap. If two tasks overlap, then both of those tasks will run at the same time. This can cause problems, especially if you aren’t monitoring the workflows properly. You should try to minimise the amount of overlapping between tasks to avoid causing issues.

Data Collection

When you’re working with data collection, you’re basically collecting information about something. Data collection can involve anything from collecting customer information to gathering sales reports. Once you have the data collected, you’ll want to analyse it.

If you’ve ever worked in IT, you may already be familiar with the concept of collecting data, analysing it, and presenting the results to others. Think about how you might handle the above scenario as an IT person. In this case, you have some data to gather, and you have to decide where to store the data for later analysis. After you’ve gathered the data, you want to perform the analysis. Then, after performing the analysis, you want to share the results with others.

The point of all these examples is that you want to automate repetitive tasks, and you want to do that in the safest possible way. Businesses that use hyperautomation tend to be more productive and effective, which is why they’re so popular today.

What is an example of hyperautomation?

Some example of hyperautomation

Automatic checkouts at grocery store checkout counters

Many retail stores are now using automatic checkout systems where customers no longer need to wait in line at a cashier's booth. Instead, they simply scan their items at a self-service kiosk. These systems allow employees to work in a much quicker manner and provide customers with a seamless shopping experience.

Self-serve machines for beverage refills

Some restaurants use self-serve machines to offer their patrons beverages. In these cases, guests just place their own order and select the drink they want. Then, the machine dispenses them. This kind of setup saves time and money for the restaurant since it eliminates human error in the ordering process. Guests enjoy the ease of this service and appreciate the convenience.

Food printing devices

In the food industry, many companies print labels for their products directly as they prepare them. Many manufacturers are already starting to incorporate this technology into their supply chain management processes. When an item goes out of stock, a label could automatically be printed and posted online. This way, customers do not have to wait until everything runs out before they know if it's available again.

Internet of Things (IoT) sensors

Internet of Things (IoTs) sensors are becoming increasingly popular. IoT sensors are computerised gadgets that connect to the internet via wifi signals. They can monitor equipment and collect data about what's happening around them. The sensors then send information to apps and software programs on smartphones. They can even help us find lost pets!

Bar code scanners

These days, barcode scanners are a common tool used across industries. Bar code scanners read a bar code on something and automatically record what product it belongs to. Customers then swipe their credit card at the register and the transaction is done. Bar codes also save time for busy employees who need to manually input data into the register each day.

Automated marketing

Automation tools allow business owners and marketers to reach their customers at a lower cost, without any human intervention. There are many different platforms out there today that help businesses automate various aspects of their business. These tools include email marketing software, social media management tools, and web analytics software. Other automation tools include customer relationship management (CRM) systems, order processing systems, and lead generation software.

Business intelligence

Business intelligence helps companies know what’s going on inside their organisation and how to make sure everything runs smoothly. This includes knowing if their employees are meeting their goals and quotas for sales and production. By using business intelligence solutions, organisations have the opportunity to identify and correct problems before they become an issue.

Customer service

Customer service automates customer interactions, including phone calls, emails, and live chat sessions. This means that if someone contacts the business via these communication channels, the company has the option to answer questions, resolve issues, and perform other actions automatically. That way, the time spent answering those questions can be saved for more critical matters.

Financial accounting

Financial accounting software tracks expenses, revenue, profit margins, and other financial information related to a company’s operations. These functions of accounting make it easier for financial managers to understand where money comes from and goes.

Human resource management

Human resource management solutions provide HR departments access to employee data, records, and history. These features enable HR teams to do things such as track performance reviews, hire new employees, and monitor sick leave usage.

Marketing automation

Marketing automation software can be used to target specific audiences, set automated campaigns, and even deliver messages and content based on customer behaviour. This type of software is typically used for ecommerce websites and online stores, but can be applied to almost any industry.

Salesforce

Salesforce is a CRM system that enables users to create custom applications and manage sales leads. You can use its integrated email templates to send personalised messages to your customers and prospects.
